| Growth in demand for aspartame has waned due to heightened competition
in the high-intensity sweetener market, which has translated into
a slowdown in demand for L-aspartic acid. Modest growth prospects,
oversupply and pricing pressure have pushed one US-based player out
of the market. However, a new player has entered the arena hoping
to capitalize on improved production economics and emerging applications
for the product to become a leader in the industry. |
